Ms Potato: Pedal Away Polio

Managed to attend a meaningful event, Pedal Away Polio before I go back to my current state, Kelantan =)

This event was successfully held by Rotaract Club of TUC, District 3300..

All right, what is Polio??

A crippling and potentially fatal infectious disease, polio (poliomyelitis) still strikes children mainly under the age of five in countries in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.
Polio can cause paralysis and sometimes death. Because there is no cure for polio, the best protection is prevention through immunization shots.

Polio might be a stranger to most of you all but with every effort you spent in making this event a success, a child can be protected against this disease for life with a vaccination for as little as US$0.60.

Your contribution will help Rotary raise $200 million to match $355 million in challenge grants received from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The resulting $555 million will directly support immunization campaigns in developing countries, where polio continues to infect and paralyze children, robbing them of their futures and compounding the hardships faced by their families.

As long as polio threatens even one child anywhere in the world, children everywhere remain at risk. The stakes are that high. By donating now, you can help Rotary achieve a polio-free world.

There was a total of 183 cyclist who joined this event..

The start off point was at Sunway Pyramid BLUE ENTRANCE (Near Sunway Lagoon Main Entrance)

Cyclist flying off at 9am and most of them reached the final line at 10am.

Total distance is about 30km =)
